Sarah and Alex,

What an amazing winery wedding at Early Mountain Vineyard!! Seriously, you could not have chosen a better wedding venue for a summer vineyard wedding than Early Mountain Vineyards! I had suspected that it was a gem prior to arriving. Every Virginia wedding photographer loved working at Early Mountain Winery and I knew I wouldn’t be the exception.  The beautiful tasting room, luxurious amenities,  award-winning wines, and the many ceremony and reception options depending on the weather. The beautiful Blue Ridge mountain panoramic views, rustic barns, and endless rows of grapevines allow us to make unique wedding images for all of our couples.

It was such an honor for Amy and I to be part of your day. I know that she cherishes you both and is so grateful, not just for the friendship that has developed through a certain fuzzy bunny with a following all of his own, but also that you touched her daughter’s life in such a deep meaningful way– and even invited her to be such an honored friend in your wedding day.

When I arrived at the guest cottage, I was amazed by your calm, cool demeanor! The whole wedding morning was spent laughing with your friends and even doing all of their makeup yourself. Many brides focus on themselves all day but not you! You were focused on everyone around you, but especially Alex. It is so clear what a kind and giving person you are. We are all blessed that you are an influence on 3rd graders everywhere! You and Alex chose to have an intimate, romantic wedding ceremony, utterly undisturbed by technology and distractions. The natural beauty of the vineyard and Blue Ridge foothills made it pretty much magical!

Throughout the evening, I learned some really fabulous things about you both. Outside of being crazy in love with each other and your families, you both have an amazing sense of humor! I learned all about your sweetie Honey Bunz. I learned that you can dance like no one’s business and I learned that everyone has been waiting for you to tie the knot since pretty much the day you met.

I also discovered how truly loved you are by your families. Jonathan and Joshua were positively gushing during your first look, in case you didn’t know, that is pretty rare for brothers! I had a sweet moment chatting to them before you came out to see you in your wedding gown and they told me how close you all are, and as if for emphasis, gave your mom an extra bear hug.

But of course, the sibling love wasn’t all yours, Sarah. Brian made sure that we all knew how much he loved his brother even if he hoped that Alex was a little sister in the very beginning!

You both made your wedding your very own in so many large and small ways, from your love of Hamilton to THE BEST FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE of any wedding ever at any time.

Thank you for inviting me into your little corner of the world and for embracing me like family. I can not tell you how much I loved working with you. I hope you always look back fondly on your wedding day and wish you so many amazing adventures in the years to come! I can’t wait to follow along on your magical journey because I have no doubt you will continue to light the world on fire and bring immeasurable joy to those around you!

Friday the 13th might not be a lucky day for everyone but I am pretty sure it is going to be your favorite day from here on out!

xo,

Beth

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

I never thought I would be a wedding photographer. I started my professional career in Boulder, Colorado, riding on the backs of motorcycles, chasing professional cyclists through winding roads and epic climbs. I never thought I would find another career as exhilarating and rewarding but I was DEFINITELY wrong. I photographed weddings in Colorado, but it wasn’t until moving East, to Charlottesville, Virginia, that I really fell in love with them. I love all of the beauty of the flowers and the pretty clothing, but I what I LOVE MOST is documenting the love between the TWO OF YOU, and the COMPLETE JOY of your BEST DAY EVER.
