Charlottesville senior portrait time is hands down my favorite time of year. After a long wedding season, I truly look forward to getting out and having fun with our high school seniors. Why? Because I think that young people have an insight that we lose as we get older. My soon-to-be seniors always have something interesting to share and are always open to new and creative and, often, silly ideas.
I especially love getting to see siblings from the same family. In fact, this family might look incredibly familiar to you guys! It was just a short while ago that Maya was graduating from high school and we met up at the IX Art Park to create her senior portraits. I had a great time catching up with her and hearing about her first years at college. And, she was there to give Ashton a little moral support (or, you know, good old fashioned teasing)
The best part of senior photos around Charlottesville is the varied and unique places we can discover. It is important to me that my seniors really express themselves through their high school senior portraits. Ashton likes brick and greenery so we wandered around looking for all of it that we could find! Of course, it also involved being ridiculously silly and documenting some fun family time with his sisters.
What are some of my other favorite places for Charlottesville senior photos? I love the Rotunda at UVA, this great little fire escape and the glass building (which is sadly currently under construction!) You can never go wrong with a session around Belmont, Waterperry Farm or up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But, sometimes, the best senior sessions are right where you made your favorite memories during your high school years 🙂
graduating soon? you might like these senior portrait galleries!
Abigail’s senior portrait session was particularly special to me because she is our nanny! And, you have to have something extra special in the works
